About
Our Story
Chronicle was built on thirty years of firsthand experience — managing small businesses, running veterinary practices, and working in corporate accounting. Our founder, Sonya Rodgers, spent a decade managing veterinary hospitals handling operations, staffing, inventory, and finances. She knows what makes a practice financially healthy, and what keeps an owner up at night.
By 2020, she had seen enough veterinary practices underserved by generalist bookkeepers that she founded Chronicle specifically to fill that gap — a firm built exclusively for the industry she knows best.
Sonya personally works on every client's books and supervises every engagement our team handles, so three decades of experience are applied directly to your hospital, every month.
Why Boutique Matters
We keep our client base intentionally limited — not because we can't grow, but because growth that dilutes personal attention isn't worth having. At large firms, you are one of hundreds of clients where it's easy to fall through the cracks, get passed between staff, or have your books handled by someone who barely knows your name. That doesn't happen here. Quality of relationships will always matter more to us than volume of clients.
We only take on clients where there is a genuine, mutual fit. We understand that we may not be everyone's cup of tea. If we are unable to serve your needs for any reason, we will gladly connect you with a trusted peer from our professional network — no one leaves empty-handed.
